How Many Kinds Of Asthma Are Known?
Asthma is one long term condition, which affects the respiratory system. This condition is often categorized into at least 2 kinds i.e. allergic asthma and non-allergic asthma. However some disciplines may introduce a third category naming it mixed asthma. This makes it an arguable 3 categories of this condition.
An Extrinsic Asthma
Extrinsic asthma now referred to as allergic asthma is normally sparked by allergic things such as dust mites, dander, pollen particles, mold, etc.
An Intrinsic Asthma
Intrinsic asthma is mostly triggered by constriction of the airway and/or emotional disorder such as stress, tension and anxiety.
Another school of thought further splits intrinsic type into classifications like asthma caused by exercise, asthma caused by work related issues, etc.
The type of asthma really depends on what can be considered to be triggering it. Whether it is environmental factors or something that is internal to the patient the characteristics of the attack are similar. In other words you cannot tell if someone has this type of the asthma or the other. Mostly the signs and symptoms are the same.
A Combination of The Two
This type is a mixture of intrinsic and extrinsic asthma. Mixed asthma patient react to certain allergies but also are activated by other intrinsic type of triggers.
Asthma attack is a catch-22 problem -
When a person is affected by asthma, burning irritation is felt in the bronchi becoming red and swollen.
When the air ways are irritated in this way, the patient becomes highly sensitive to different things, which may aggravate asthma.
